Lived here for 14 years, I love this place. Favoring the upstairs apartments keeps bug control and other things virtually effortless, although unless you have a denim blanket or something, the windows can lose some heat. You can ask me anything #49
Morton Street Apts : Downsides... Slums. Dumpy. Over Priced. Not enough parking. 4th of July was very bothersome. Tons of random people parking and walking in apartment areas. Noisy. Upsides Right next to Safeway.
My next door neighbors were raided by dogs and a SWAT team. My car battery was stolen. Parking was terrible. Not all the neighbors were as bad as the ones obviously having trouble with the law but the poor response to maintenance made up for any positive attributes. My ceiling had apparently been leaking in the bathroom and had been repeatedly reported since the last tenants lived there. They'd patched it up repeatedly and assured me that they'd call a plumber but water damage and black mold were still accumulating from the continuous leak by the time I left. There was a short in the walls and the tap connected to my washer would foam with bubbles whenever the neighbors did their laundry and sometimes would leak enough water to make the floor wet. In the bathroom, hot water would only last for ten minutes and would initially come out a brown, coppery color. Even though I reported these things, the best they were able to do was give me a new water heater (which didn't help) when the whole place really needed to be gutted and have the pipes and wires replaced. There was occasionally a burning smell that I couldn't place in my bedroom. Avoid for your own safety.
